About Me

Sometimes I feel like somewhat of a shapeshifter. I come from a heavily multicultural background born to immigrant parents, so my identity has been formed from a mixture of my religious, secular and local identities. Moving from the suburbs of Fresno to San Francisco, I dove deep into topics of virology, transcription and epigenetics as I completed my Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences. Currently in Los Angeles I am working at UCLA as a data librarian, providing support for biomedical and computational biologists in research and scholarly communication. I addition to that work, I digitally remaster illustrations or photographs in what I like to think of as an Urban Surrealist style. In my art I like to highlight architecture, and altered perspectives. I use a dark background for a lot of my work to represent our shadows or the darkness in the world, which allows the vibrant colors in our lives and spirits to shine.
